Recruit Students

Meet with admitted students: Please let us know if you would be willing to meet with students in your region or country. Meeting with incoming students showcases our alumni networks across the county and gives students a personal perspective on the Humphrey School.

Refer a student: Our graduates are one of our most important tools for recruiting the next generation of Humphrey School students. If you know of students who want to learn more about graduate programs in public affairs or who would be a great fit for Humphrey, let us know!

Mentor a Student

The Humphrey School's mentor program provides one-to-one matches between students and Minnesota alumni and other professionals in the students’ areas of interest. The program serves students in all Humphrey degree programs who are interested in domestic policy/planning issues. The mentor program begins with an orientation program for students and mentors in September and kick-off events (where mentors and students meet) in October. The program runs through the academic year, ending in May.

Sponsor an Internship

Providing an internship for a Humphrey student is a win-win proposition: your organization gets professional expertise for a research project, program evaluation, or other project, while the student gets the opportunity to see firsthand how coursework can be applied in a work setting. Internships can be paid or unpaid, full time (during the summer) or part time (during the academic year). Find out more about how develop an effective internship and hire a Humphrey School intern.
