Hiring Humphrey Graduates + Interns

Our graduates pursue careers in government, nonprofit organizations, think tanks, consulting firms, and private companies. Consider our talented master's degree graduates for important positions in your organization.

Do you have a project that requires professional expertise? Do you lack the staff to do it? You need a graduate intern. With a little effort, you can achieve great results while providing a valuable experience for a Humphrey School master's degree student. And you can evaluate a potential employee at no risk to your organization.

We offer our assistance as you plan the recruiting and employment program for your organization’s future:

Post jobs on the Humphrey website (no fee)
E-mail positions to, either opportunities at your own organization or postings from a third party that you are passing on to the Humphrey School.

Post internships on the Humphrey website, too!
There are two ways to post internships: Either e-mail internship postings to, or complete this online internship form.
To get started thinking about your internship posting, see a graduate internship sample posting.

GoldPass: The University-wide posting system
You can post openings for jobs, internships, fellowships, and related opportunities on the University-wide GoldPass posting website (no fee for posting). You can self-register on GoldPass and add postings that will reach both current students and Humphrey School alumni. To access the system, visit GoldPass.

Visit our campus
An in-person visit to campus for an information session and/or interviews often attracts the best candidates. Prior to your visit, we can provide resumes and schedule interviews. To schedule space at no cost to you and make all the arrangements for your visit, contact Jane Vega at or 612-624-1400.  To fit the academic calendar, visits normally are scheduled September through November and February through April.

Talk to students and graduates at the February Career Engagement Fair
Join a wide variety of organizations from all sectors to bring your work to the attention of Humphrey students and alumni. The Public Affairs Student Association Career Engagement Fair, held in late February, gives you an easy way to meet Humphrey talent and network with other professionals.  There is no registration fee for employers. For more information, call Jane Vega at 612-624-1400. On-campus interviews may be scheduled before or after the fair itself.

Meet our students in Washington, D.C.
In March, a group of Humphrey students travels to Washington to visit organizations of interest and meet with Humphrey School alumni and other professionals in small groups, panels, and networking events. We can schedule time for you to talk with our students during this four-day event.  If you are interested in sponsoring a student visit to your organization or participating in a career panel, please contact Lynne Schuman at or Martha Krohn at
