Since CSPG was founded in 2005, we have convened a wide array of public events and programs to promote an informed and engaged citizenry including: former Vice President Walter Mondale; Governors Mark Dayton and Tim Pawlenty; Senators Norm Coleman, Al Franken, and Amy Klobuchar; former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger; New York Times' David Carr; lead State Department lawyer and human rights advocate Harold Koh; Washington Post’s E.J. Dionne; "Washington Week's" Gwen Ifill; NPR's Michele Norris; Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh; New Yorker’s Jane Mayer ; former FBI agent and lead terrorist interrogator, Ali Soufan; acclaimed political analyst Theda Skocpol; Winner Take All author and Yale Professor Jacob Hacker; and Andrew Kohut, President of PEW Research Center

In 2008, CSPG conducted a four-day conference during the 2008 Republican National Convention. America's Future: Conversations about Politics and Policy during the 2008 Republican National Convention offered a series of public forums on the presidential election and American politics and a wide range of domestic and foreign policy issues. This conference featured special guests Joe Lieberman, Henry Kissinger, Krista Tippett, Senator Jon Kyl, and former CIA director R. James Woolsey.

The Center is also known for is its candidate forums, featuring major party candidates running for office in Minnesota. Some past forums have included Senator Al Franken, Senator Norm Coleman, Senator Amy Klobuchar, and Governor Tim Pawlenty. Additionally, CSPG has conducted conferences on election administration, health care policy, and redistricting reform.
