Why the Humphrey School?
Honestly, I was pretty set on attending a different institution, and I will say that the Humphrey’s diversity recruitment really won me over. They brought me out to Minnesota and connected me with a variety of alumni in the area. It became apparent to me that the Humphrey School is very committed to increasing their diversity recruiting and taking special care of students with diverse backgrounds.

How did you cope with the Minnesota cold?
Minnesota is very well equipped to deal with the weather; it has good infrastructure, including tunnels and skyways, and plenty of plows. The Twin Cities area is very vibrant, and I found that people aren’t deterred by the cold, which is something I really appreciated and found welcoming.

What is unique about the Humphrey?
At the Humphrey, people are committed to making the world a better place. There is an urgency and need to make policy valuable, practical, and good for the people in Minnesota and throughout the country. This commitment to seeking out the common good through policy was very appealing to me.
