Humphrey School Programs

Master of Public Policy with Global Policy concentration
A global policy concentration will help you understand how and why various actors think and act globally as they attempt to address domestic, transnational, and international concerns. Topics include economic growth, international trade, poverty reduction, climate change and other environmental problems, democracy and human rights, global public health, and traditional and nontraditional security threats. The Humphrey School offers many courses of interest to students in this concentration, as well as the flexibility to choose courses from other University of Minnesota departments, such as political science, applied economics, and public health.

The Master of Development Practice in International Development
The Master of Development Practice (MDP) is designed to prepare you for a career in international development. It provides rigorous interdisciplinary training and equips students with skills required to address the problems of poverty and sustainable development in the developing world. The program spans seven academic units across the University of Minnesota and provides training in policy analysis and management; health and education; natural sciences; social sciences, and interdisciplinary research methods.
